Easter Sunday 2012

It's Easter. On this day, Jesus rose from the dead - that's how the story goes. This is a big day for christians, the reason for all that "good news" we spread because he went and died on the cross for us.

On this day, I think about the people that go without. The ones who have no families, or homes. The ones starving in Africa because of disease, famine, and conflict. The ones who struggle with mental illness and depression. The ones who feel oppressed, and abused, and the list goes on.

As we sit around a big meal with our friends, family, and loved ones, remember you are blessed. What I take from Jesus and his message is to be with the "other" and to stop otherizing.

Easter is a time for rebirth, renewal, redemption, and reawakening.

Wake up! Celebrate each other, for some that is all we have.

There is a lot of good work to do in the world. Let's get busy!
